Mount Emei, one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains in China, is renowned for its deep historical and spiritual significance. It is the sacred site of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, and its many temples and monasteries imbue the mountain with a mystical atmosphere. The scenery is breathtaking, with each season offering its own unique beauty—lush green in spring, vibrant in summer, fiery red in autumn, and peaceful snow-covered landscapes in winter.
In addition to its natural beauty, the playful monkey groups on the mountain are famous. Perhaps due to the mountain’s spiritual energy, these monkeys are not only unafraid of people but actively approach visitors to beg for food, adding a touch of charm and humor to the hiking experience.
The scenic area is divided into three regions based on altitude: low, middle, and high. The lower region, below the Qingyin Pavilion, is characterized by dense vegetation and a mild climate similar to the plains. The middle region, extending from Qingyin Pavilion to the Xiangchi Pool, is home to several temples. The high region, above Xiangchi Pool, is cooler and home to towering ancient trees, offering a more serene and tranquil atmosphere.
Major attractions include temples such as Baoguo Temple, Fuhu Temple, and Qingyin Pavilion, as well as scenic spots like Hongchunping, the Ninety-Nine Bends, and the Golden Summit.
There are two main ways to explore Mount Emei: hiking or taking a vehicle. Hiking the entire mountain takes about 2 to 3 days, while traveling by vehicle is more relaxed and can be done in 2 days, allowing you to see the classic sights comfortably.

The operating hours of the tourist buses and cable cars vary according to the season. Departure and return times are subject to change, so it is best to check with the official website or local staff.

Mount Emei offers discounted admission for various groups. Children under 1.2 meters (or under 6 years old), seniors over 65 years old, active military personnel, and people with disabilities can enjoy free or half-price entry. Special groups such as journalists, veterans, and holders of specific talent cards also benefit from discounts.
