Mutianyu Great Wall, Underground Palace (Dingling – Ming Tombs) Private Day Tour

In the morning, you will visit the Underground Palace, the mausoleum of Zhu Yijun, the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty. This emperor ruled the empire for 48 years, making him the longest-reigning emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Historical records show that the total cost of building this mausoleum was more than 8 million taels (300 tons) of silver, equivalent to two years of all taxes at the time. Dingling Mausoleum is the third largest mausoleum after Changling Mausoleum and Yongling Mausoleum, and its decoration surpasses the first two mausoleums in terms of exquisiteness and complexity. After visiting the Ming Tombs, you will have 45 minutes to stop at the Jade Carving Factory. Here, you will discover why jade carving is a famous local craft, revered not only for its superb skills, but also for its deep roots in traditional Chinese culture.
After a delicious Chinese lunch, you will explore Mutianyu Great Wall in the afternoon. This section of the Great Wall has more watchtowers than the average Great Wall, with 22 scattered across 1.4 miles (about 2.2 kilometers). Fortifications on both sides of the wall and barriers at the inner and outer battlements allowed the defenders to shoot at attackers from both sides, highlighting the strategic military importance of the Great Wall. If you want to reach the highest point, you can choose to take a cable car to see this ancient wonder from a unique perspective.
After an unforgettable day, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
