Badaling Great Wall & Underground Palace (Dingling – Ming Tombs) Day Tour
Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel at the scheduled departure time to start an unforgettable day exploring some of China’s most historic and breathtaking sites. We will first head to the Ming Tombs, the best-preserved royal tombs in China, with 500 years of history. Here you will visit Dingling, the underground mausoleum of Emperor Wanli. A maze-like palace complex, Dingling is the first royal tomb in China to be excavated on a planned basis, giving you a fascinating glimpse into history. You will spend two hours gaining an in-depth understanding of the rich history and exquisite architecture of these extraordinary tombs.
After visiting the Ming Tombs, we will head to the Jade Carving Factory for a 45-minute tour. This local specialty jade carving factory showcases exquisite craftsmanship, perfectly integrating Chinese traditions and culture into each piece of jade. This is a great opportunity to learn about the exquisite skills of jade carving and perhaps purchase a unique souvenir. After the cultural experience, we will enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant to give you an authentic taste of China.
Our journey will continue to Badaling Great Wall, the most famous and best preserved section of the Great Wall. You will have 2 hours to explore this iconic landmark. The highest point of the Badaling section is about 800 meters above sea level. If you want to climb to the highest point and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view, taking a cable car is a great option.
After a day of exploration and cultural experience, we will transfer you back to your hotel, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing end to your unforgettable journey.
