The Summer Palace is located in the western suburbs of Beijing’s Haidian District, 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the city center. As China’s largest and best-preserved imperial garden, the Summer Palace was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council in 1960. With its stunning landscapes and splendid architecture, the Summer Palace is a typical Chinese garden, famous for its classical beauty. In 1998, the Summer Palace was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Summer Palace covers an area of 294 hectares (726.5 acres), three-quarters of which is water, mainly composed of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. The design of the Summer Palace fully reflects the love of nature, presenting visitors with breathtaking views and showing exquisite craftsmanship built with the finest materials.
After a traditional Chinese lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit the Pearl Market, a must-see attraction where you can explore and find beautiful souvenirs.
After the visit, we will send you back to the hotel around 3:00 PM.
