As China’s largest and best-preserved imperial garden, the Summer Palace was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council in 1960. With its stunning landscapes and splendid architecture, the Summer Palace is a typical Chinese garden, famous for its classical beauty. In 1998, the Summer Palace was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Summer Palace covers an area of ​​294 hectares (726.5 acres), three-quarters of which is water, mainly composed of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake.
