Itinerary Quick Look:
Tiananmen Square, Lama Temple, Confucius Temple & Beijing Zoo
The tour starts at 8am and we drive to the world’s largest square, Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is the heart of modern China and the symbol of the People’s Republic of China. The square is surrounded by many important landmarks that give you a deep understanding of the country’s history. You can spend about half an hour exploring this magnificent square.
Next, visit the Temple of Confucius in Beijing. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the Temple of Confucius was a place where people worshiped Confucius. Today, this historic Temple of Confucius is home to the Beijing Capital Museum, giving visitors a glimpse into China’s rich cultural heritage.
A short ten-minute walk will take you to the Lama Temple, a famous Lama temple in the northeast of old Beijing. The Lama Temple was once the sleeping palace of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, and the temple houses a towering Buddha statue, 26 meters (86 feet) high, carved from a single piece of sandalwood.
Before lunch, experience a 20-minute traditional Chinese tea ceremony. China is the birthplace of tea, and the art of drinking and tasting tea is an important cultural tradition in China. Experience this peaceful and elegant tea ceremony, which has been part of everyday Chinese life for centuries.
Enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch near the Beijing Zoo, where you will meet the stars of the zoo – the giant pandas! These adorable animals, which look like both bears and cats, but are closer to raccoons in anatomy, will surely fascinate you.
Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel, ending a day full of historical and cultural wonders.
