Hanshan Temple is located on Fengqiao Street in the Gusu District of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Founded during the Tianjian era of the Liang Dynasty (part of the Northern and Southern Dynasties period, approximately 502–509 AD), it is a renowned Chinese Buddhist temple with a history spanning over 1,500 years. The temple gained worldwide fame thanks to the poem "Night Mooring at Fengqiao" by the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji, which contains the lines: "Outside the city of Gusu lies Hanshan Temple; at midnight, the sound of its bell reaches the traveler's boat."
