Badaling Great Wall and Mutianyu Great Wall Day Tour
Our guide will warmly greet you at 8am in the hotel lobby, ready for an unforgettable day. We will take a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Badaling Great Wall. Badaling Great Wall is the best-preserved and most popular section of the Great Wall. At an altitude of about 1,000 meters (3,281 feet), it is strategically located and offers breathtaking views. “Badaling” means “reaching all directions”, symbolizing its long ridges that stretch in all directions. Badaling is easily accessible and the trails are well-maintained, and you will enjoy a 2-hour hike along this iconic structure. If you wish to reach the highest point, you can choose to take a cable car for a convenient and exciting climb.
After a delicious lunch, we will continue to Mutianyu Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall has more watchtowers than any other section of the Great Wall, with 22 watchtowers along the 1.4-mile (about 2.2 km) section. The fortifications here include inner and outer battlements, which are arranged in a zigzag pattern to achieve dual defense – this remarkable feature highlights the military strategic significance of the Great Wall. Likewise, for those who want to climb to the highest point, there is also the option of taking a cable car.
Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel, ending a pleasant and fulfilling day of exploration.
