Wonders of Ancient China - The Silk Road
This tour will leave you with great memories and allow you to experience the wonders and vast landscapes of ancient China in the far reaches of the legendary Silk Road. Cross the Gobi Desert like an ancient traveler, visit oases, listen to legends of the warring factions that prompted the construction of battlements, and create your own photo opportunities. In contrast, admire art artifacts, murals, carvings, and museums that show what life was like at the time.
Travel Itinerary
Your tour begins at 7:30 AM, when your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Mogao Caves in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival, you will watch a documentary about the history of the Mogao Caves, and then visit these caves, which contain some of the finest Buddhist artworks from 1,000 years ago.
Continue to the Echoing Dunes. Ride a camel up the mountain and listen to the beautiful melody emitted by the dunes, which gave the dunes their name. Hiking to the top, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the layers of sand dunes and feel the wonder and mystery of the desert. At the oasis Crescent Spring at the foot of the mountain, your guide will unveil its mysteries and talk about conservation efforts.
Your tour ends at approximately 6:00 PM. After a full day of travel in the fascinating Gobi, you can return to your hotel in a comfortable vehicle.

- Any city not included in the existing tour package can be added to this tour and taken as an addition to this Private tour.
- Entering and exiting China from Hong Kong and Taipei are also available.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.

- This is a small group tour with a fixed itinerary and guaranteed departures.
You will travel with other people (maximum of 12). - Smart casual dress and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- The tour guide may adjust the itinerary due to closure of the museums each Monday.
- At the conclusion of the tour, a transfer from your hotel to Hongqiao or Pudong Airport in Shanghai is available upon request at a surcharge.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.
