Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best time to see pandas in Chengdu?

Early morning (7:30-9:30 AM) is best. Pandas are most active during breakfast time. By late morning, they often sleep. We arrange early arrival to maximize your viewing experience.

Can I hold a panda in Chengdu?

Panda holding programs have been discontinued for animal welfare reasons. However, you can participate in volunteer programs to prepare food, clean enclosures, and learn about panda conservation. These experiences still offer close-up views and are more meaningful.

Which is better: Chengdu Base or Dujiangyan?

Chengdu Research Base has more pandas and is closer to the city (30 min). Dujiangyan Panda Valley is less crowded with wilder habitats but requires 1.5 hours travel. Both are excellent — we can help you choose based on your priorities.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes! Kids love seeing pandas. The base is stroller-friendly. We can adjust the pace for families and include kid-friendly activities like the panda museum and playground.

How many days should I spend in Chengdu?

One day is enough for pandas plus city highlights. Two days allow a more relaxed pace or a trip to Leshan Giant Buddha. Three days let you experience local culture, food, and nearby attractions fully.
