Experience China's Ancient Capitals: Guilin
Guilin is a famous city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, famous for its beautiful natural scenery and unique karst landforms. The city is located between the Li River and Guilin landscape, known as “the best landscape in the world”. Guilin has magnificent karst peaks, clear rivers, ancient caves and magnificent landscape paintings, attracting countless tourists to visit. The famous Elephant Trunk Hill, Yangshuo, Silver Cave and other attractions are all representative landscapes of Guilin, showing the magical charm of nature. Guilin is also famous for its unique Zhuang culture and delicious Guilin rice noodles. It is a tourist destination that combines natural beauty with cultural charm.
Travel Itinerary
When you arrive at Guilin Airport, your private driver and guide will be at your service. Enjoy a hassle-free transfer to your hotel. You will be greeted by a welcome dinner. Overnight in Guilin.
Meals included: None
Morning: Depart for Longji Rice Terraces Scenic Area, approximately 2 hours by car.
Walk through the terraces and admire the golden beauty of autumn. Visit a local family and learn how to make bamboo rice in a traditional wooden house. Cook and enjoy with the family.
Afternoon: Join the locals in fishing in the rice fields, or if your visit coincides with the annual harvest season, help local farmers harvest rice.
Return to Guilin in the evening and stay overnight again. Dinner will be served in Guilin.

Morning: Drive approximately 2 hours to the famous Xianggong Mountain and climb to the top to enjoy the fairy-tale views of the surrounding karst landforms.
Hike from Jiuma Painting Cliff to Xingping Town, along the most beautiful stretch of the Li River. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Xingping Ancient Town.
Afternoon: Set up your own tent camp by the river, stay overnight and enjoy a BBQ dinner.
Evening: Watch local cormorants fishing on a tributary of the Li River and learn about the lives of local fishermen.

This will be a leisurely day.
Morning: Take a ferry from the tent camp to Fuli Ancient Town, visit a workshop and learn about the creation process of colored fans. Learn from local artists how to paint traditional scenery on paper fans. You will have your own handmade fan as a souvenir.
Afternoon: After lunch, visit Qixing Tea Garden, one of the most beautiful tea gardens in Guilin. You will first learn how to choose the right tea leaves and pick them in the right way. After picking the tea, the tea farmers will show you the process of frying tea. Then learn the correct way to brew tea while tasting different kinds of local tea.
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight at a hotel in a beautiful environment in Yangshuo.

This will be a refreshing day.
AM: One of the best ways to immerse yourself in the idyllic scenery of Yangshuo is by bike. Follow your bike guide and ride through the charming countryside of Yangshuo, breathing fresh air amidst the towering karst hills, getting close to nature and meeting local farmers.
The ride will take about 2-3 hours, depending on the students’ physical strength. Enjoy a picnic lunch.
PM: Explore the Water Cave and learn about the amazing world of underground limestone formations in a more natural way. Unlike those tourist caves in China with colorful lights, concrete steps, etc., the Water Cave is a half-explored and half-developed cave.
A qualified and experienced English-speaking instructor from our partner outdoor center will accompany you throughout the exploration and provide you with detailed information about the karst cave formations.

Build teamwork through fun tasks
This will be a day full of activities!
AM: Team building tasks are a good option for students to learn how to work as a team and complete tasks together. We will arrange a special day for teamwork challenges in the scenic Yulong Valley.
Under the guidance of our professional coaching team, students will participate in carefully designed activities and complete interesting goals. Activities include learning how to make bamboo rafts that can be used on the river, rock climbing, finding local snacks, and finding local attractions.
Afternoon: At the end of the activities, around 3 o’clock, a summary and award ceremony will be held, and a farewell dinner will be enjoyed, and the last night will be spent in Yangshuo.

Morning: After breakfast, we will send you off smoothly from the airport.
Tour 'Wow' Points
Be a mountain minority for a day：
Visit the Longji Rice Terraces and visit a local family to make bamboo rice and cook it the local way. Join the locals in fishing in the rice fields, or if your visit coincides with the annual harvest season, take part in the rice harvest.
Explore the Li River in an alternative way：
Skip the tourist boat tour and hike along the most beautiful stretches of the Li River. Climb to the top of a karst mountain by the Li River for a bird’s eye view of the surrounding scenery. Enjoy the sunset over the Li River and watch cormorants fishing on the riverbank.
Camp overnight by the Li River and enjoy a BBQ dinner：
Set up your own tent camp, sleep under the stars (Guilin’s skies are clearest in autumn), and enjoy a BBQ dinner while taking in the stunning views, including sunset and sunrise – an unforgettable experience!
Participate in a variety of hands-on cultural activities：
Paint your own Guilin landscape with a paper fan in Fuli Ancient Town. Pick tea leaves at a high mountain tea plantation and learn how to brew local tea.
Participate in outdoor activities led by qualified professional coaches：
Bike through the uninhabited Yangshuo countryside, explore semi-developed caves, and learn about the amazing world of underground limestone formations in a more natural way.
Play and develop teamwork through fun tasks：
Students will learn how to make rafts with tubes and tires, rock climb, forage for local snacks, and discover local attractions by the river. Professional coaches from our affiliated outdoor education center will set goals for students and integrate learning activities into fun games.
