In addition, Chengdu is known as the “Land of Abundance” and is famous for its food culture, especially the famous Sichuan cuisine and hot pot.
Wenchuan County is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, located in the eastern part of the western Sichuan Plateau. Wenchuan County is located in the hinterland of northwest Sichuan, with high mountains and deep valleys, and beautiful scenery. It is known as the “Little Jiangnan in Western Sichuan” and is a charming small city. Here, you can taste authentic western Sichuan cuisine, enjoy Tibetan traditional dance and song performances, and experience the authentic Tibetan lifestyle.

Travel Itinerary
Your guide will be waiting at the airport arrival hall with a name card and a warm smile. You will be taken to the hotel by private car and driver, and your guide will help you check in and make sure everything goes smoothly at the hotel.

On the 3-hour drive to Wolong, you will have a short reflection at the 2008 earthquake memorial in the ruins of Xuankou Middle School. Ganhaizi, located in the buffer zone of Wolong Nature Reserve, is a great place to enjoy the natural scenery of the giant panda habitat. This little-known gem is perfect for photography enthusiasts or those who like a leisurely walk.

Note: If the activity attraction is closed on the day, the itinerary may be adjusted.
Arrive at Wolong Panda Center at 8:30 am and start a day as a panda keeper. In the morning, carry out activities from cutting bamboo to cleaning enclosures under the guidance of the staff. You can watch the keepers feed the pandas up close. Then take a break and tour the panda center with your private guide, who is familiar with the base and knows a lot about pandas.
Afterwards, have lunch with basic materials in the canteen and watch a special documentary about the life cycle of pandas. In the afternoon, make cakes for the giant pandas and cut bamboo leaves for the old pandas. After the course, you will receive a panda keeper certificate.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by a special car and driver to the airport, and the journey ends. Your guide will escort you to check-in and wave goodbye at the security check. It’s time to say goodbye to the hometown of giant pandas.

- The tour guide may adjust the itinerary due to closure of the museums each Monday.
- At the conclusion of the tour, a transfer from your hotel to Hongqiao or Pudong Airport in Shanghai is available upon request at a surcharge.
