Take a rickshaw and visit the ancient towns to experience history firsthand, or stroll through the alleys and houses to understand the local lifestyle. Leisure and gardens have always been an important part of Chinese culture, and the moving designs in the gardens have inspired poets, philosophers and legendary figures throughout the ages.
Travel Itinerary
Upon arrival at Suzhou Railway Station, your local guide will pick you up and take you on a rickshaw tour of Pingjiang Road, a well-preserved historical district that stretches along the Pingjiang River, taking you back to its origins during the Tang and Song dynasties. Wander through the alleys, ancient houses, rivers and bridges of this historical district to experience the lifestyle of the locals. At the end of the day, you will check in to your booked hotel.
After breakfast, we will pick you up to the Humble Administrator’s Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the center of Suzhou, which is the largest classical garden in Suzhou and one of the four great gardens in China. You will feel relaxed and happy walking through the picturesque landscape, where traditional buildings, hills, lawns, flowers and winding streams are in harmony with nature, creating a poetic and elegant architectural environment.
The amazing views will make you want to pick up your camera to take pictures.
Lunch is not included, but your guide will be happy to provide you with suggestions.
Admire the artistic features and cultural value of the Master of the Nets Garden, an exquisite classical garden with pavilions, rockery, corridors, bridges and ponds beautifully arranged, all in amazing harmony. The history of the traditional dwellings dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty in 1174.
In the afternoon, visit Tiger Hill, a large hill park full of legends and beautiful scenery. The Tiger Hill Pagoda is a major feature here, which is set amidst extensive gardens, trees and lawns, scattered with ancient pavilions and stone artifacts. Learn from your guide how the park’s beauty and tranquility belies its history. You will then return to your hotel.
After breakfast, we will pick you up to go to Tongli Water Town. Tongli Water Town is famous for its well-preserved ancient buildings, private gardens, temples and traditional dwellings. Surrounded by five lakes, the town has charming water views and a peaceful atmosphere. You can stroll along the stone streets at your leisure, or have a cup of tea in a simple teahouse and enjoy the local melodies.
After the tour, you will be transferred to Suzhou for your next destination.
Note: Transfers between Shanghai Airport and Suzhou can be arranged in advance for an additional fee.

- Entering and exiting China from Hong Kong and Taipei are also available.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.

You will travel with other people (maximum of 12). - Smart casual dress and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- The tour guide may adjust the itinerary due to closure of the museums each Monday.
- At the conclusion of the tour, a transfer from your hotel to Hongqiao or Pudong Airport in Shanghai is available upon request at a surcharge.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.
