Qiandao Lake, also known as the Xin'an River Reservoir, is a large reservoir in Chun'an County and Jiande City, southwest Hangzhou, Zhejiang. It is known for the many mountain-peak islands that gave it the name "Thousand-Island Lake."

Qiandao Lake, also called the Xin'an River Reservoir, serves as the water body for the Xin'an River Hydropower Station. It is located in Chun'an County and Jiande City, in the southwest of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The reservoir was created in 1959 following construction of a dam at Tongguan Gorge in Jiande. The reservoir covers an area of 567.40 square kilometers. Mountain peaks that remained above water after the reservoir was filled became islands. When the water level is maintained at 108 meters relative to the Yellow Sea datum, there are 1,078 islands, each at least 2,500 square meters—the feature behind the name "Qiandao Lake," or "Thousand-Island Lake." The lake area is divided into five zones: central, southeastern, northwestern, southwestern, and northeastern. The central and southeastern sections have been developed into commercial tourism zones. Primarily designed for power generation, the reservoir also supports flood control, irrigation, fisheries, navigation, and tourism. A suggested visit duration of about 5 hours is provided.
