Starting from Lhasa gave me the perfect chance to get used to the high altitude before we started the drive out to Everest. We stopped at beautiful monasteries and overlooks in Shigatse and Tingri that I never would have found on my own. The whole 8 days felt perfectly balanced between driving, sightseeing, and rest, so I never felt tired or overwhelmed. Getting to see Everest up close at the end of the tour was the most incredible payoff for the journey.

I booked this tour through HelloChinaTrip after getting amazing recommendations from my consultant Lynn, and she couldn’t have steered me wrong. The route is paced perfectly so you acclimate to the altitude gradually before heading up to Everest, which made the whole trip so much more comfortable. Every scenic stop had enough time to take photos and soak in the incredible Himalayan views, no rushing. This is honestly the once-in-a-lifetime trip everyone promises it to be, and I’d do it again tomorrow.

The tour route was incredible and the sights are unmatched, but I visited during peak spring season and encountered far more crowds than I expected at the base camp. Even so, the experience was worth every penny and I’d still recommend it to anyone heading to Tibet.

I was nervous about acclimatizing before going to Everest Base Camp, but this tour’s itinerary starting in Lhasa made that completely stress-free. The drive through the Tibetan countryside to Shigatse and Tingri was just as beautiful as the final stop at Everest itself, with so many opportunities to stop and experience local culture along the way. Every day felt thoughtfully put together, with just the right amount of activity and downtime. This truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would recommend to any adventurous traveler looking to visit Tibet.
