Mutianyu is way less crowded than the more popular Badaling section, so this was the ideal tour for anyone who wants to actually enjoy walking the Great Wall instead of fighting crowds. The private hotel pick-up and drop-off inside the 5th Ring was so convenient, we didn’t have to figure out any confusing public transport at all. All entrance fees and the on-site shuttle are included in the price, which makes budgeting for the day super easy with no hidden extra fees.
My wife and I booked this tour as we met the minimum 2 traveler requirement, and we had a wonderful full day out. The private transport was clean and comfortable, the 1.5-hour drive from our central Beijing hotel didn’t feel long at all, and the hotel pick-up saved us so much time and hassle. The included on-site shuttle bus at Mutianyu is such a great inclusion, it saves you so much energy that you can spend more time enjoying walking the wall instead of tiring yourself out before you even get there. Lunch at the local family-run restaurant was way better than I expected, our local Beijing dish was delicious and very reasonably priced. The quick 20-minute photo stop at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube on the way back was a lovely unexpected touch. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Beijing, it’s great value for money and perfectly organized from start to finish.
My partner and I booked this tour as our first activity in Beijing, and it exceeded every expectation we had. This Mutianyu day tour was absolutely perfect from start to finish. For $103 a person, you get so much included—definitely worth every penny.
